Auger drilling is a method for installing auger piles and is usually done for drilling in minor depths through loose rock. Installing the piles via auger drilling helps in balancing the load of a construction in deeper soil layers. Auger drilling is largely free from vibration and noise, which is why the technique can also be used in urban areas. This is one advantage drilling augers have over methods such as drive drilling.
Find more information about the drilling auger procedure here!
Auger drilling does not require large tubes, which is why both the preparation and the actual process are fairly uncomplicated. The drilling auger – which is hollow from the inside – is screwed in the ground and the drilling is initiated. Upon reaching the target depth concrete is pumped through the bore hole. Ultimately, this presses the drilling auger back up. If something other than steel fiber concrete is used, the starter bars need to be vibrated into the concrete.
If the drill depth needs to be altered during the drilling process, this can be adjusted at any point.
There are several different auger drilling methods, which we would like to present to you in the following.
One of those is continuous flight augering (CFA). This is considered the standard auger drilling procedure as described above. We offer cutting edges, customized for the respective geology of the building site. Furthermore, we adjust the size and length of the drilling augers for your specific building project.
The front-of-wall (FOW) method is specifically used for auger drilling in confined spaces or right at the foundation of existing buildings.
So-called dual-head drilling drives allow for simultaneous drilling and piping.
In addition, we offer you vertical and horizontal auger drills, which we have in stock for all common sizes. However, the cutting edge can be customized just the way you need it.
Another auger drilling tool is our telescopic vertical auger drill. These drills are perfect for areas with low heights. The special construction allows for great drill depths – even in buildings or underneath overhead wires.
We would be happy to advise you on-site on which method should be used for your particular drilling project and on the required cutting edges.
